I did not have a lot of expectations going into this book. I knew it was an enemies to lovers book but I was not extremely excited to dive into it at first. However, once I read two pages I was immediately hooked!
Here’s my book review for The Hating Game by Sally Thorne:
I absolutely loved how real and genuine The Hating Game was. I have read pretty much every corner of the romance genre at this point haha, I have definitely had my fair moments of cringe romance moments or sex scenes that just did not work for me. Sally Thorne did an awesome job: this book did not have a single cringe-worthy moment, it was so cute and made my heart so full.
Lucy and Josh’s romance was so heartwarming to watch develop. I loved seeing their relationship grow through everything they went through, especially when Lucy got sick! It was so cute to see Josh turn into such a loving and caring man towards her. It literally had me clutching my hand to my heart because it was so darn cute.
I also just absolutely loved Lucy as a character. She reminded me a lot of myself and she was just such a lovable character. I loved seeing her understand and recognize her feelings for Josh; it was so cute to see her little revelation that she was in love with him.
Lastly, I just wanted to say that the iconic moment when Lucy stands up for Lucy at the breakfast scene actually had me clapping in my room because she told him!!
Overall, I absolutely had the most wonderful, heart-gushing time reading The Hating Game and it has become one of my favorite romance novels of all time. I rate this book 5/5 stars!! What an awesome result for a book review, right?
