Pfew! Now that’s a list that could spook even the most unspookable of bookworms! 👻🐛
But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Here we’ve prepared some tips & tricks to help you get through these 2019 readathons easier:
Tip #1 Buddy reading
Reading the same book as others is so much more exciting! This is why some readathons provide challenges that can help you get plugged into the group. But even without these challenges, you can still get your BFFs to read the same book and compete against each other.
Tip #2 Audiobooks
Sometimes you need to take a break to avoid headaches and eye fatigue. But that doesn’t mean you can’t still keep reading! Audiobooks provide a unique opportunity to remain immersed in the storyline, without overexerting your eyes.
Tip #3 Keep track of what you’re reading
If you don’t have someone to challenge you to read more, you can also compete with yourself. Just open the Bookly app, set your goal, and watch your progress.
Tip #4 Don’t get too comfortable
Few things feel better than reading in bed, but if you want to go through your to-be-read book pile faster, you need to stay a little bit uncomfortable. So maybe pick up your book and read on your couch instead.
Don’t feel like joining any of these fall readathons? You don’t have to! You can launch your own readathon for 2019.
Go through your To Be Read book pile, pick a date that works best for you, and get readin’! If you’re really just interested in seeing how much you can read in 24 hours, there’s nothing wrong with making it a private affair. It might take some pressure off, letting you enjoy what you’re doing for what it is.
Is there a readathon you’d like us to add to this list? Let us know in the comments below!

I’m participating in the Dewey Readathon this weekend! It will be a good way to get through my NetGalley reads. The one I look most forward to reading is The Ten Thousand Doors of January.
I have a readathon I’d like added to this list. The Lord of the Readathon, inspired by the Lord of the Rings trilogy, spanning July 1st through September 31st. Information can be found at my announcement video:

If you could add this readathon to the list, it would be most appreciated! 🙂
Thank you for letting us know. We’ve added it to our updated list
