I will preface this book review by saying this: I would be content with reading just this book for the rest of my life. Honestly.

Here’s my book review for The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, by V. E. Schwab:

“The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue” was one of the most beautiful books I have ever read. V.E. Schwab’s writing style was so intoxicating and gorgeous, I found myself wanting to spend as much time as I could taking in every single word on the page.

I loved the world that Schwab created in this book more than I can say. It was so exhilarating to read about Addie’s life all the way from the 1700s to 2016. I could legit read about every single one of Addie’s years and probably never get bored. It was amazing to see how she got to live through history and grow with it. I also loved to see how she found the loopholes in her curse and learned how to leave marks of herself through the works of artists.

Then once we met Henry, oh my goodness. I was so fascinated by how he could remember her, and once I learned why, I was so intrigued with learning about his story and how their story became intertwined. I just loved their love story so much it made my heart feel so whole.

Then I was also so fascinated with Addie & Luc’s story as well, as it was so complex and developed so much over the 300 years that they knew each other. I couldn’t decide if I loved him or despised him.

I could go on for hours and hours in this book review about every single detail that I loved about this story. I have nothing but praise for it.

I happily took my time reading this book and allowed myself to take everything in as I read. After I sobbed so hard as I finished the book, I wanted to open it back up to the first page and start the entire story over again. It was that beautiful and it impacted me in such a huge way. I truly believe that I am changed after I read this book.

I give this book 5/5 stars 🌟 and I think it is my new favorite book of all time.

  1. YES! This book is fantastic! I also would seriously read a book just on each individual year of her life. I’m obsessed with the two relationships she has in her life and I need a second book NOW!! ❤️❤️❤️
