2020 is almost over (yay?) and you know what that means! It’s time to think about all your reading goals and new year resolutions.

By now, you’ve probably already made up your mind that you’re going to commit to reading more next year, and you probably know exactly how many books you want to finish by the end. But how are you going to keep yourself accountable, you ask? Well, by using Bookly, of course 😉

Bookly is here to become your best reading companion for 2021. 🤩 Our app can help you track books, keep you accountable, and improve your reading habits over time. 💪

It has tons of cool features to get you into a reading routine that will work for you, so you can crush all your new year goals. And if you’re as competitive as we are, you’re probably pushing yourself to read a little more (and, why not, a little faster) month after month. But without someone or something to keep you accountable, that can be pretty hard to accomplish.

Think of the app as your new reading buddy that keeps you motivated and helps you find out exactly how to achieve all your new year resolutions. Like that AI coach on your fitness app that pings you every time you need to track your workout.

First things first, here are a few good tips & tricks that will help you start reading more:

1. Take some time to read every day

Honestly, we’re all busy, and we all have tasks already piling up on our daily to-do’s. Finding time to squeeze in some reading between all these other commitments can be extra tough unless you purposefully schedule “reading time” in your agenda.

2. Always bring a book with you

Wherever you leave the house for work or a walk in the park, bring a book with you. Before you open the front door, make sure to bring all your necessities: phone, wallet, keys, and your current book.

3. Reduce social media / TV time

We all have small pockets of time that we could use for building a better reading habit, but instead, we tend to scroll through the social media feeds and Netflix recommendations. So, whenever you feel bored, why not go for that book on your nightstand before grabbing your phone or the remote?

4. Find your reading nook

Another useful trick might be to assign one or more spaces for reading in your home. After reading for a while in one spot, your mind will automatically associate that certain place with the act of reading. These book nooks can become powerful reading cues that help you make reading a habit.

5. Use Bookly to keep track of your progress

One of the most important things you can add to your reading routine to help you keep your new year resolutions and to keep yourself motivated is tracking your progress. It’s that one thing that will hold you accountable when you’re serious about making reading a habit. You can either log your reading in a notebook, in your bullet journal, a spreadsheet or, you guessed it – an app.

So, how will Bookly help you exactly? Let’s break it down for you:

Bookly helps you read more

Arguably one of Bookly’s best features is Bloo, our cute reading assistant. He’s always there with you, watching your progress and encouraging you along the way, making sure you stay motivated while you reach your reading goals. In the Assistant tab, you’ll find all the details that Bookly tracks about your book ratings, stats, your current level, goals, reports, and more.

When you get to the Assistant tab, Bloo will welcome you with a quote and inform you about your current reading level. Below, you’ll find some suggestions, your reports, and, finally, the Word of the Day (randomly chosen from the words you saved from books).

Bloo will always be with you during your reading journey to make sure you’ll stick to all your new year resolutions along the way!

Bookly helps you stay motivated

Developing skills of any kind is not an easy task – it takes time, commitment, and, more importantly, motivation.

This is why we’ve decided to add reading achievements to Bookly – because by being reminded of how much you’ve grown along the way, you’re motivated to read even more, to push yourself.

Simply put, reading achievements are badges you get every time you reach a milestone. You can find the badges you’ve gathered so far by going to the Stats tab and scrolling down to the Achievements section.

Did you know you can also share your reading achievements? You can do so by tapping on one of the badges you’ve earned and then tap on Share.
